Sydney, Feb 12(ANI): Australian fast bowler James Pattinson and all rounder Shane Watson look set to make a comeback in the Australian fifty over squad.
Pattinson had declared himself fit for Saturday's one-day match at the MCG, Victoria's last of the one-day domestic cup.
Joining him in the comeback stakes yesterday was Australian opener Shane Watson, who played grade cricket in Sydney.
Watson plans to follow the next stage of his return by playing in the Western Australia-New South Wales Sheffield Shield match, which starts in Perth on Friday.
"Yeah, I felt fine running down a few in the field [on the thick grass at Shepley Oval]," The Age quoted Pattinson as saying.
He now may play for Victoria in a one-day match against South Australia at the MCG on Saturday.
Watson, who had been sidelined with a calf problem since Australia's second Test win during last November's tour of South Africa, couldn't contain his happiness at being back.
"I have been waiting quite a while for this moment, actually and I've been dreaming about a few of those shots I played. Unfortunately it wasn't for long enough. It was nice to spend some time in the middle and get out and play, it's been a very frustrating couple of months," said an elated Watson.
